I gave up on color printing at that point. So I needed to spend a small fortune on new ones. My usage on color is low and it seemed that every time I wanted to use it, the cartridges had dried out. It completely solved the problem and the thing is still roaring along like it was new.Īt one point, I did buy a color inkjet. It started having some issues with the paper pick up a couple of years ago and I spent about $25 on a refurb kit which enabled me to replace several of the high-wear parts. The toner cartridges cost around $100 but last me a couple of years. by the design, the Printer Drum does NOT need replacing as it is said to be for the life of the machineįor the past few years I've be very happy with an old HP LaserJet printer (2100TN). even with infrequent use.do Toner Cartridges still hold good for printing and so would last quite a lengthy time without the need for quick replacement (because a Toner cartridge of course is even more costly if it has to be replaced even after irregular use with standing from time-to-time).Īs is highlighted in any Review of this one. DO they give longer standing life in Toner Cartridges, even if they do not get really regular use. or generally a Laser Printer of similar kind. So - does anyone have any useful comments on the aforementioned Dell. I often have to replace the cartridges on a cheapo KODAK Hero Inkjet I use infrequently, when I seem to have had very modest few print pages out of it.it's just 'gone' and shows as empty needing replacement. moreso, if in fact you use the Printer much less frequently. the Inket of course.as I know too well from my own experience and present main cause of concern. With a LASER paring it to an Inkjet type. theoretically that to me is a big amount and even the initial set would appear likely to last ME a LONG LONG time. When buying the Dell one, you get it equipped with the Four Toner cartridges it takes - each one said to be good for 700 prints or whatever. and of course does Color/B&W to order.Īlthough I used a Laser Printer always, back in my working office days, I've totally forgotten any or all of the attributes and anyway things may have changed now.I'm not sure. the C1765NFW which is an all-in-one Print/Copy/Scan/Fax. and particularly there is on sale in UK right now what seems to be a quite good one by DELL. some of the ink has gone and I've not even printed anything !! As it seems almost all modern-day Printers however, cartridge costs of course are the profit-maker for all makes and this tends to hit harder when you do relatively less in the way of regular printing - I seem to find even switching on/off appears to have some effect on installed cartridge life and certainly when I replace one - it usually does an initial check to settle-in etc and by the time that's over. however they ARE fairly expensive to buy in proper HP form and as I don't really do an enormous amount of print work (very much of what I do is correspondence and printing off such as schedules, PDFs or similar). takes just two cartridges but relatively seem bigger than a lot of the modern Printers and they do give quite a good usage. I've had now for what must be quite literally UMPTEEN years an HP Black/Color printer that is very typical of days of old - it's quite big but REALLY solidly made. I'm putting this here mostly because the Printing Forum seems to get far less activity and anyway I'd imagine almost everybody on here no matter what camera gear they use will do some printing of varied kind.
